Hello everyone! I’m currently a 4th year dental student on HPSP and will be going into active duty army this upcoming spring and trying to figure out the best way to pay my student loans from my undergrad degree. I have $30k average 4% interest of subsidized and unsubsidized federal loans. I haven’t found any information about loan forgiven other than doing PSLF but I already know I won’t be doing 10 years. Is there any other way to pay them off/ have them forgiven? What would be the best strategy for repayment? IDR?

Also, does anyone know if subsidized loans accrue interest while in the military? I didn’t pay any interest while in grad school because it was an education deferment but not sure if the military has the same thing, which would help a lot paying down the principal. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
