Says the DOJ for the 10th time. Last time they said this, during the pandemic, the government’s lawyers were bragging about how badly they were going to skewer google. I believed it then because I heard it directly from multiple government attorneys, but then nothing happened, so fuck it, show me and I’ll believe it. Until then, the DOJ can fuck right off with its chest pumping.

Google seems to be doing a good job breaking up themselves. I notice just about everything they do now a days is getting shittier and shittier. I think their vastly overpaid CEO should probably be fired at a minimum. Not impressed with anything that guy has done.

    3. Two pieces of good news in one day: First the lady that ruined YouTube dies and goes to hell, so Satan can sodomize her, and now Big Gov will break up Big Tech.

Considering they are the leader in quantum computing i doubt the dod will let it happen

Google is a key source of power and control across the world. Uncle Sam would be shooting himself in the dick by breaking it up.

Tons of stuff they can do to address the monopoly stuff short of splitting the company up altogether. This is a nothing burger

Disclaimer. I hold shares of Google and msft, admittedly heavier in Google, but:

MSFT was on serious clown shit during that Google trial. Nadella showed up and played witness for the govt.

      Like a fuckin bitch.

Fuck him, honestly, because he sat there and whined and complained ab how Bing “just cannot compete” with Google, while MSFT has a complete monopoly over enterprise.

The whole DOJ scheme with these numerous anti trust cases as against each of the mega cap techs…

It’s like 5 criminal trials against each defendant with each testifying against the other in separate trials.

      I don’t like it.

Either fuck off, or break them all up. You’re gonna destroy our most valuable assets but whatever, if that’s what you’re gonna do, then you have to kill all of them bc you’re just making MSFT stronger breaking up google.

It’s a fallacy that any of this even helps Americans.

They outright failed to show any consumer harm, but effectively argue they do not need to.

We’ll see if Ms. Khan retains her role in 6 mo. time

Google has a monopoly on nothing.

Posted using an iPhone with DuckDuckGo browser. I have work, Apple, Google, and yahoo email addresses.

The current Justice deportment thinks good and popular equals monopoly.

Idk it might be a win for Google to break it up at this point. They really aren’t innovating anything right now. Just polishing turds and slapping an AI sticker on them.

    10. Fuck the DOJ. They are nazi’s picking and choosing winners and losers. Not the governments job.

Google got this large because they provided a better service (search) than their competitor (Yahoo!) back in the day. The better man won. Yahoo! didn’t help their case by making a series of flubs…

Google then took that and hired solid talent and created other services that were successful such as Gmail and Maps. Then they bought Youtube with their profits. Which made more profit.

Punishing them because they were highly successful is exactly what I’d expect of a Democrat lead DoJ. Just like they think taxing the wealthy into oblivion will somehow help middle America. It just doesn’t. It ends up creating more problems they didn’t anticipate.

    12. Google’s monopoly on search is a real case. It’s about paying for being the default search engine etc. It’s a legit argument imo

Why does anyone think breaking up big tech is what’s best for Americans? Tech is a significant portion of the American economy and its single biggest advantage over any other country. If the American government wants to do something useful for the people then just pass laws that favor consumers. Am I just being clueless here??
