Peasants have no choice but to spend money they don’t have…

You realize consumer staples is one of the sectors that doesn’t get hit the hardest during recession. That’s because people still need groceries and other essentials.

    3. Get ready. Hard times are coming. You can’t hide a ponzi forever, not even Maddoff could do that and he was considered the best.

Wal-Mart’s doing well because inflation is so crazy, even rich people have to buy groceries at Wal-Mart now.

    5. Although we are out of the woods

Sales increase at Walmart IS a recession sign. They’re consumer staples.

    6. Walmart the unofficial indicator of recession. If their spending more there they can’t afford Target anymore

    7. Yeah, of course the peasants will keep buying food at one of the only retailers in their area because they ran most of the others out of business. Lmao

    8. Well yeah, the clientele that shops at walmart isn’t the group getting laid off in droves.

    9. At Wal-Mart. Because they can’t afford to shop at Whole Foods. Wal-Mart prospers when the economy is shit dumbass.

Walmart is doing well because a lot of people who used to shop at better but also pricier stores switched to Walmart to try to save a bit of money.

Places like Walmart or Dollar General doing well is not a sign that the economy is doing well. It’s a sign that an increasing number of people are struggling and trying to stretch their dollars.

Walmart sales are up because they lock everything up now. So hard to steal socks, makeup, electronics and diapers now
