I am in the army reserves and my contract ends in May. My fiancé (baby dad) is also in the reserves and his ends in April. I want to go active for cheaper child care and the benefits of active duty. My fiancé makes good money as a driver and we were told if we get married and I go active I won't get much of financial help. He is a regional driver so not home during the week much. ( hes used to layovers) He has a house that we don't want to sell because we got a great deal with low interest. ( Also lot of work needs done before we ever sell. Family lives closs to help take care of property. We talked to his family) He can get on base without me. I would need housing do to our child. So is it much different than being married or "single"

Hope this makes since. I am a scramble typer haha.

Do not join the military because you think you’ll get inexpensive childcare and be stationed near home.

In my experience, both expectations will disappoint you.
