Hello, first time poster regarding homeowners insurance. We recently found mold in our kitchen when we went to replace a dishwasher. We had mold remediation come out and called homeowners insurance. The mold remediation company is still treating the area and drying it out but we’ve already received payout from my homeowners insurance for 3700. My question is on the payout it shows a breakdown of costs but nowhere does it show the mold remediation coverage. The breakdown is just for removal and replacement of cabinets. Should I reach out to the claims Adjustor and ask for a change or just accept the money and pay for what else out of pocket?

Reach out, make sure they aren’t considering the claim closed .. also keep in mind that your payment will be less your deductable.. also depending on the state mold coverage can be an add on that you pay for not automatically covered .. so I would call your agent and ask and have them deal with claims ( unless you don’t have an agent)
