Hey everyone! So I've been an agent for about 10 years and I'm fed up with it. It's rediculous what we have to deal with on the agent side of things. So much uncertainty and I'll add that I spent way too much for this book of business.

Formerly, I was a successful commercial P&C agent earning over $140,000 / year, then I got a nasty set of personal circumstances dealt to me. As a result, I made some stupid decisions and investment choices which is leading me back to a more secure paycheck.

Can anyone give me some insight into his/her experience moving from insurance sales to claims adjusting? I'm currently enrolled into some training for Exactimate but I'm not 100% sure if that is going to be useful to me with the path that I'm looking to take. I want the paycheck, benefits, and pension plan that I had a few years ago! Ahhhhhhh!

I want to get involved with claims that are NOT high volume and rediculous work loads but everything I see is to the contrary online.

It looks like everyone is miserable in claims. It can't be that bad…. Try navigating the competitive waters of sales and battling everyday to get a sale.

Try calling hundreds of "potential clients" and getting the phone slammed down because your company sucks and rates are too high.

Try not being perfectly networked in the white collar world of business but being a solid hard worker, only to see the fruits of your labor diminished by "Jed the entertainer" with a guitar. JK but still a valid point…

Business is all about precision. Can't make mistakes or you get swallowed.

Has anyone got some advice or an experience move from insurance sales to claims adjusting…? I'de be remiss if I didn't say it won't be fun to tell clients they should have purchased xyz vs tmz coverage but that would make me sound a little vindictive I guess.

Insurance agent looking to get out!
