Own my car but be on parents’ policy?

Hi!

I currently reside with my parents and am purchasing my own car. Is it possible to have the title and registration be completely in my name but have the car be insured under my parents policy? Or is it mandatory that they are a co-registrant? I am seeing in some places that it is okay if we still reside at the same address. For context this is in NY and I am already a driver on their policy.
