She hit my car a month ago. Police declared it her fault. I claimed it with my insurance. She caused $9k worth of damage. I just learned that she did not contact her insurance company at all because her insurance contacted me for more details and said it was the first they had heard of it. A MONTH ago. Adjuster certainly didn't sound happy about that.

She was also a b**ch when she hit me, telling me it was my fault, and also claiming the damage could not possibly have been her fault because she thought the damage must have been there already since she felt the white paint on my car, even though her car was white too but she felt it was not at the height of her car. I am trying not be spiteful, but I'm just curious. Think she'll be dropped from her insurance? Her insurance only knew when my own insurance contacted hers demanding payment. They are now initiating their own investigation, but yeah it's still going to be on her if the police were already on my side.

[Side point… She demanded that we wait for the police, despite them telling me their policy was to not come unless someone was injured. She got two tickets (one for the unsafe lane change and the second not being able to improve she was insured)… If she had not demanded we wait for the police, we would have just had to fight it out with our own insurance companies. Joke was on her for being so self-righteous and telling me I was at fault. Ok…]

the woman hit my car when she took out my car, thinking my lane was her own.

    1. I want to say yes but I’m not sure if every company is the same. For the one I work for, if you don’t respond by the time frame we give you, you’re dropped immediately.

    2. >Think she’ll be dropped from her insurance?

She’ll get sent to underwriting for sure, but she may not get dropped. A lot of factors go into those underwriting decisions.

    3. This is incredibly common. I’d bet she doesn’t carry collision, the coverage that would cover her own vehicle, and she’s hoping it just goes away and she got away with it.

She may or may not be dropped. They may or may not send a message to underwriting. I’ve seen claims filed years later with no consequence. I’ve seen people completely evade insurance and have it go to suit. She may cancel her policy with them for confirming you’re not at fault. Honestly, she’s more likely to be dropped for an At Fault accident than not reporting for only a month.

Honestly, doesn’t matter. As long as she has valid insurance with property damage liability to pay for your vehicle, you get your money and you can move on. She’ll live with her own consequences.
