Hi, so I have a (well I think I do) auto policy with Statefarm.

On July15, I got a notice saying that my policy will be cancelled on the 4th of August due to my driver’s license not being updated on their system. The letter was dated 10th of July but when I got the mail, it was already 15th.

I contacted my agent and updated my license. My agent told me that it would take 10 to 15 business days for the underwriting team to review my documents.

After 15 business days, which is the 5th of August, my policy on my Statefarm app has been cancelled but my agent tells me that they started looking at my license (after 15business days) and that my policy will be extended automatically.

The next day, I am told that my policy has been reinstated by my agent and that I will be able to see my policy on the account page by Wednesday or Friday at latest.

A week has passed and there is still no update. By this time my agent stops picking up my calls but I get a notice saying that my policy has been reinstated from the underwriting department. This was last week Tuesday.

I still cannot see my policy, nor can I make a payment. (My last payment was the 1st of July because of the whole cancellation)

I can’t really understand why updating my system is taking this long literally more than a whole month has passed, and why I don’t have any other way of contacting Statefarm other than my agent who is not picking up. (I go straight to Voice message) I have no idea what is going on… my agent seemed like the only one who wanted to help but can’t get a hold of him.

Literally the only thing I’ve been asking from the start was just to let me know if I should contact other companies but everytime he assures me my policy is fine.

When I contact customer service, they tell me the only people with access to my policy and who can contact the underwriting team is my agent. He’s nowhere to be found… Judging by this slow process Statefarm has, it seems to me they are going to be slower to respond back if I ever get into an accident.

Can somebody tell me how people even deal with this and how long would I have to wait?

    Statefarm…
