I was involved in an accident some months back. It was a fender bender as I was driving around 25 MPH. The accident led to a dent on the rare bumper and a little popping out on the side of the bumper of the other person’s car. The person’s car was drivable after. My car had more damage and was tolled. After adjusting my car, $3,000 plus was quoted to fix my car. As for the other person’s car, I initially saw about $500 paid for the property damage on my insurance app but recently saw over $15,000 paid for the other person’s car. I called my insurance company, they said that was the amount needed to fix the other person’s car, that there was probably a significant damage to the inside of the car. But I don’t understand how the hit could have caused a significant damage in the inside of the outside only had a dent and how my car which had more damage could have cost less than the other person’s car.
Is this a way to significantly increase my premium beyond what it would have been?
Is there anything I can do about it? If yes, what please?
    Thank you all

My insurance paid ridiculously high amount for other person’s car damage

No , your premium will be raised cause you’re at fault.

No. They paid what is owed. You haven’t even provided the year, make, or model of said vehicle. Also most of the time there is underlying damages.
