My wife had complications during her pregnancy so we went to a high risk OB. We had to go 5 times before my wife delivered.
The high risk dr. was listed on the insurance site, but at a different location. We didn't think anything of it and went to the dr.'s regular location. They ran her insurance and took a copay each time we visited. The receipt showed a $0 balance, which made up think it was in network. After my wife delivered, we received a bill for $11K because the location was considered out of network, even though the dr was in network at another location. We've appealed the claims, only to have it denied.
Is there anything we can do in this situation? Are we screwed?
