Car insurance from 1k a month to 100

Hello, i am 20M i live in florida and i’m a little confused. So a year and a half ago i got into a car accident and the lady ended up suing me for a lot of money. She was just making up a bunch of shit but besides the point, she ended up getting 30% of what she sued me for. My insurance decided to drop me and the rest of my family. With some talking, my mom was able to get them to allow the family to stay with that insurance but i would have to go on a separate policy. So our insurance lady looked for a policy for me and told us it would be 1k a month for me to be insured, which is absolutely insane. I worked insanely hard so i could buy my own car and be able to pay for college myself and now i’m expected to pay 1k a month??? But then i decided to go online to progressive and see how much it would be for me to go with them, I filled out all my information and they said i could get insured for 100$ a month. I don’t understand, Is that a real number? How would it go from 1000 to 100? i feel like i’m missing something. I didn’t call them i just went through the website, i did mark that i was in an accident and that it was my fault but it didn’t ask me anything about being sued from it. Will they crank it up when they find out about that?
