My son arrived at his first duty station at Vicenza, Italy last week. He asked his finance office about dislocation allowance, per the JTR and was told he doesn’t get one and they have never heard of it.
Is that accurate? If so, what reference in the JTR states that because I don’t see it in the JTR. I’m active duty Air Force and we receive it, and JTR is for all service members, correct?
He’s a PFC, single. Any Army finance personnel experts out there?
Thank you

He’s a single soldier army in the barracks. Does not get it.
Especially for the first pcs if no dependents.

[First google result when searching DLA answers why he’s not getting it.](https://www.dfas.mil/MilitaryMembers/travelpay/armypcs/dislocationallowance/)
Reasons you recieved DLA is due to having dependents while moving.
DLA is not authorized if:
– This is your first PCS move and you do not have dependents
