      Put enough for the TSP match first, then max out a Roth IRA before coming back to max out the TSP.

      TSP and Roth IRA are two distinct accounts. They each have different amounts and rules. You can have a traditional or Roth tsp and a traditional or Roth IRA

      You can use the article below to learn more and just replace “401k” with “tsp”

      Invest as much as you can since they’re both tax advantaged. TSP limit is 23k and ira limit is 7k. If you can save 30k/yr in these accounts that’s ideal
