The situation is this.

    I know someone that is getting out of the Air Force at 13 years and will receive seperation pay. They are looking at transferring to the Army to finish out their last 7 years. Will they need to pay back their seperation pay if transferring to another service? They are trying to plan just in case there is a break in service. Any help provided is appreciated.

      I’m most cases, yes. Highly dependent on a bunch of very specific variables.

      But they are totally eligible for UCX unemployment insurance after separation until exhausting the benefit or getting re-employed, whichever is first. That can be a generous benefit depending on the state of residence.
