I have an open claim for kitchen water damage with USAA. The water damage was due to a dishwasher tub rupture.
USAA quickly paid for the dry-out and for the subsequent asbestos abatement. But there's been no communication from them since. They don't reply to any of my queries.
My contractor submitted a repair bid three weeks ago, but has not received a reply. No approval or denial. The contractor is a USAA approved contractor, and has worked with them before.
I left a voicemail for the adjuster 6 days ago. No reply.
I sent an email 3 days ago to the unique claims address we were given, and forwarded the original contractor bid PDFs. No reply other than an automated one.
I sent a message using the USAA smartphone app 3 days ago. No reply.
All of these communication methods promised a response within one business day.
I'm getting kind of worried, as this lack of communication seems odd.
Is this normal? Is 3 weeks+ to respond to a bid normal? Any advice on how I should proceed? Thanks.
USAA not communicating about my claim

definitely not normal; next step is to call the claims line and politely ask to speak with the adjuster’s supervisor
Pick up the phone, call the main number and ask for that person’s supervisor. If the supervisor does not respond in 24 hours, call and ask for that supervisors manager. I can almost assure you that you will get a quick response.
You can contact the office of the CEO to file a complaint and ask for resolution.
