Hello everyone,
So i had a packet stolen recently that the post office left in an unsecured area without informing me that was worth overovee 200$ dollars. I tried to get the post office to help me find it they were no help so i filed a police report and was suggested to go through my renters insurance Assurant. The packet did have insurance through usps but only for 100 dollars and i made the mistake to mentioning this to the adjuster i have. Now they are telling me that they can't cover it or try to cover it unless i send them that it got rejected by the post office insurance and they are saying that if it's covered by that insurance through usps they won't cover the rest of the money. The packet had multiple clothing items so it wasn't like one item. When i asked the adjuster to quote where in the policy it says that the items can't be covered if they have another insurance all she sent me was this
"Property Not Covered. We do not cover:
    1. Articles separately described and specifically insured in this or other insurance; "
And it took her a whole week just to send that.

    Any advice?

    1. File a claim with the shipping company. If you get a rejection or are not fully covered, give the documentation to your insurer. In other words, what the adjuster said to do. Do you have a deductible on your renters insurance that applies to the claim? $200 is a small relative loss so it was not worth it being on your clue report, likely.
