When on holiday I accidentally broke my laptop screen which I use sometimes to freelance, however in the main it is my personal laptop.

    I have put in a claim through Nationwide travel insurance (I am on UKI since I bought extended cover a while back).

    They have replied to me and stated they are very busy at the moment and I can expect a reply in 21 days (clearly the legal maximum). I can use my laptop with an external monitor however, next time I travel I can't and I can't wait the full 21 days to repair it.

    How should I proceed? Repair the laptop and claim for the repair (risky given they might want to repair it themselves).

    If I cant use my laptop I may miss out on work and therefore income.
