So I live in Michigan to start. Some lady ran a red light and smacked right into me, they got a ticket. However, I have no insurance so what can I do? Cops gave me no ticket and let me go on my way. Am I out of luck considering I live in Michigan? The damage is my bumper, windshield wiper fluid tank, and head light.
Someone hit my car and I have no insurance. What are my options?

You can file a liability limited property damage claim on their insurance, if they have that coverage. They would pay up to 3k of your damages, assuming they find their insured liable.
Otherwise, if the at fault party does not have insurance, you can file a small claims action against them for the actual cash value of your damages.
Michigan is pay to play. Meaning you don’t have insurance so you can’t file a claim against the other insurance.
Michigan law does not allow an innocent and injured car accident victim without insurance and not at-fault who was driving their own vehicle to sue the driver who caused the crash for pain and suffering damages because they don’t have the proper coverage required by the No-Fault law. (MCL 500.3135(2)(c))
I wish all states were like Michigan and had pay to play laws for auto insurance.

Why no insurance? That’s very selfish and also illegal. What if you cause an accident?
Would you tell them they’re SOL, because you have no insurance?

Just looked it up. Why would anyone ever drive without insurance in Michigan? If you are uninsured and even if it’s 100% the other driver’s fault, even if they are drunk, you are responsible for all medical bills for everyone involved and property damages of both cars involved.
You can file a mini tort with the af carrier, I believe the max payout is 3k.

Get insurance or you deal with these problems on your own when they happen.
You can a ww fluid tank at a pull and save and a headlight at the auto store. Bang out what you can. Duct tape the rest.
