I have a water leak caused by neighbor upstairs leaving her faucet on. There’s no damage to my property but I have loud fans running 24*7. I work from home which is making it impossible to work. I can’t get any sleep as well. Apartment management is saying that I need to use my insurance to file a claim and stay at a hotel. I know that this claim would cost deductible and increase in renters insurance premium but I don’t care about that since I am closing on a house and will move out soon.
Will this affect rates on my home insurance?
Will filing a claim on renters insurance due to water damage caused by neighbor affect home insurance rates?
