Gonna keep this short.. I’m 24 years old. An 18 wheeler hit me 2 days ago, the trailer latched my car and dragged it. Truck driver deemed at fault, car being fixed, I’m going to the hospital.. also I have a great lawyer.

My question is, since I’m 24, will I get a decent rental? The last time I had a wreck at 20 they put me in a Kia Forte, I’ll be DAMNED. The 18 Wheeler company Insurance is paying for everything, what are my odds of getting age restrictions removed rental wise since it’s a big truck company with big insurance policies.

The rental company decides the age restrictions for rentals not the insurance company. Insurance only sends the rental car company the reservation information with the sized vehicle/car class they have selected to pay up to.

Decent rental? Anything with 4 wheels and doors is a reasonable replacement. It’s the rental companies procedures for the age restriction not insurance so no.

Just tell the rental company “I’ll be DAMNED” and they’ll give you the pick of the lot, even the exotics.

Be serious here. The insurance company is only going to cover what they’re required to by law. In some places, that’s a compact car, in a lot of states it’s comparable *size* not vehicle type.

The rental company isn’t going to lift their age restrictions so a 24 year old can beat up their rental car. They get enough people going through a midlife crisis doing that. They’re not doing that on an insurance claim where they’re probably getting reduced rates for the car anyway.
