I know this is probably a question for a Loan Officer from a bank. But I would appreciate any input.

My fiancé and I are looking to buy a home in the next 3-6 months. I am veteran. She is not.
To have her on the mortgage we would need to be married. Not a problem. Those plans are already being made. We even already plan on getting married at the court house or what have you and doing the ceremony later. So it would be no issue for us to get married first if it helps or to delay it if it helps.

I have very little debt. She has ballpark 50k in student loans.

Would it be better to go it alone or to get married first, have her income but also her debt when we apply?
