Are there any downsides for trying to make a house insurance claim for mold in my attic? I'm assuming that the insurance company will send an adjustor to determine if it qualifies. Will it impact my insurance down the road for what ever reason or have to pay for the assessment?

Best case – your rates go up after the claim denies because you called in a maintenance issue and not something sudden or accidental. Mold doesn’t just “happen” and is commonly excluded
Worst case – you get dropped because, if you call in a mold claim, what else are you going to call in
