Hypothetically, if I decided to complete my 20 years of active duty service, but I had 3 years in the guard prior to completing active duty, would those three years add on to my pension percentage? Or would I only get the pension for 20 years?

    1. You would have time from the 3 years that would bump you up from 20. But likely just the time activated for training like BMT. So for example 20.4 years vice 20.0.

    2. My 23 months guard time… to points.. to retirement bumped my retirement percentage from 50% to about 50.7%…I had one annual training and 20 months of actual drill time. Ecp rotc program may 98… started guard drill September 1998… active duty started middle of April 2000…I actually drilled the weekend before I started active duty.
