I was going to ask my adjuster but it looks like from her email auto reply she is on vacation until the end of the week.

The appraiser puts a reconditioned wheel on the itemized list even though my car didn't have one that was reconditioned. The price is $285. Then on the totals page I received an adjustment of -$60.56 for the wheel. What is this adjustment for?

I went on the wheel supplier website on the last page and the price of my wheel is $255+$34 shipping = $289. Can I ask the adjuster to give me the full amount that it will cost me for the replacement wheel from the supplier they listed?

It looks like the adjustment might be for depreciation, especially since the wheel is reconditioned. Insurers often factor in wear and tear for used parts. If you’re unsure, you might want to contact your adjuster when they return. In my experience, it’s common for insurance adjustments to include depreciation, so this might be the reason for the difference. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation with business insurance, understanding these details can help manage costs and expectations better.

    2. For the wheel replacement, it seems like the adjustment might be due to depreciation. You can definitely ask the adjuster if they can cover the full replacement cost from the supplier you found. They might adjust based on their pricing and policies. Regarding the citations, if you’re unsure about how to handle them, consulting an attorney might be a good idea.

It looks like the adjustment might be due to depreciation since it’s a used wheel. You can definitely ask the adjuster to cover the full amount based on the supplier’s price. I’ve dealt with similar situations, and adjusting for actual replacement cost is usually fair. Just provide them with the details and see what they say.
