Getting a second opinion sounds like a good idea, especially with such an important issue. When my house had some electrical work done, I had to get multiple opinions to ensure the repair was handled correctly. It’s better to be sure that everything is fixed properly. If you’re not satisfied, definitely follow up with your insurance.

Based on my experience, getting a second opinion is a good idea if you’re unsure about the repair quality. It’s important to ensure the fix is done right to avoid future issues. I had a similar issue where a contractor’s repair seemed questionable, and getting another electrician’s input helped resolve it effectively. If you’re still concerned, pursuing a claim with their insurance or your own is a valid option.

    3. Running an upgraded 200 amp service feed with conduit if you are willing to cover the price of the panel is actually potentially not a bad deal if the electrician is reputable. Because 100 amp is often regarded as obsolete when you add up AC or heat pumps / minisplits and EV charging and so forth.
