I bought some $PARA 15c 1/17/25 a few weeks ago on a whim just because they’re trading at $0.03-$0.07

Paramount produces big blockbuster movies like Top Gun, Indiana Jones, Transformers, etc.

Their streaming service is cornering the nostalgic millennial market with full seasons of All That, Angry Beavers, Aah Real Monsters, Avatar the Last Airbender, etc.

With the NFL regular season set to start, they are offering live games on Paramount+ for $30/year, or $60/year if you wait until after the season already started.

This could potentially be the smartest dumb thing I’ve ever done.

Oracle stock is up over 35% since January. Let’s see if Larry can boost PARA too.

Wow, that’s huge news!I wonder if they’ll start making movies about databases now.Imagine a thrilling film about SQL queries or a romantic comedy starring relational tables.

    2. Paramount is going to start offering a free tier, but send you letters threatening lawsuits if you use it too much.

Also something to note. Paramount+ comes free with a walmart+ subscription now. So i expect a large bump in their subscriber numbers in the next quarter.

Its to the point where Walmart will email you constantly telling you to take advantage of the free offer

    4. Fuck it I bought 8 1/17/2025 15c for 5.00 a piece let’s see if he can turn this stock around before December

    5. Scott Galloway says deals like this are to get invites to Hollywood parties.. I’m in agreement

15c are risky. They are only going to pay $15 a share and for only half of people’s shares then convert them over into the new diluted shares.

No way there’s not going to be a lawsuit over this deal. It’s screw the investors buy Resdstones voting shares for a fraction of the company, then use those to force PARA to buy his company. Taking over the entire thing for a fraction of book value.

His son David Ellison started and is CEO of Skydance Media. That definitely had some influence in this decision.

    8. This seems completely unexpected. Like if elon had bought paramount. At no point during all the offers have I heard Larry Ellison mentioned

    9. How did Oracle fumble open source software and Java so badly. It could have been such a bigger company and 10 years ahead of AWS had it leaned into open source.

No one in this thread is even acknowledging that Paramount is winding down P+. Star Trek is being licensed out already, and they’re shopping the new series’ on that premise.

Larry might change that, but streaming is in the consolidation phase now.

    11. Some people make a youtube channel when they want to be in entertainment media, but when Larry Ellison’s son David wants to be in entertainment media, he asks daddy to buy Paramount.
