I’ve been in the Army for over a year now and I’ve taken a strong interest in credit cards. However, I think I might be rushing the process too much. I’m 19 and have 6 credit cards, those being AMEX plat, Marriott bonvoy brilliant, CSR, United Club Infinite, CFU, and C1 SavorOne. I’m looking to get the Apple Card, AMEX gold, and Hilton Honors Aspire in 3 months time. With the help of my parents’ monthly expenses, I’m able to get every SUB. My personal expenses are relatively low, $400 every month on mainly food; so I pay my cards off in full every time. My credit scores are 750-770. My oldest account history is 1 year 7 months.

I’m going to stay in the Army for the next 8 years. And each year that goes by, I feel like I’m wasting a year of untapped credit card benefits. Is it a good thing to apply for a lot of credit cards when I’m young so that my credit history will mature in the future? Or would it be a bad look for someone so young to own 10+ premium credit cards at such a high velocity?

I may be overthinking this but I really just want to learn how to plan my future. Thank you for your time.
