Hello,

So i recently became a progressive customer earlier in the week Tuesday/Wednesday, at some point in the last 10 hours or so this Friday my car was hit and ran, i called the police and got a report and then filed a claim in the Progressive app, the car is not drivable given it won’t turn on… When i called progressive and said hey i have filed a claim my car isn’t operable the rep informed me that i have an “insurance coverage issue” and that i have to wait till the next business day to speak to an adjuster. Has anyone had any experience with this?
** from what the app shows me i have active full coverage which includes towing

    ** I live in VA

    1. You had a claim immediately after inception someone needs to get into the file and confirm that the damage happened after you took out the policy and not the other way around.

Yes, claims on new policies often get sent to SIU and investigated. They want to make sure this didn’t happen before you got the policy and have many ways to find out. It’s normal
