Tried to swap to Progressive from USAA because it was $100 cheaper a month. Got through 99% of the process then Progressive decided to deny it at the last step because I have “too many claims”? I’ve never made an insurance claim in my life? I’m 25 yo male, and have that USAA SafePilot app installed. That is the only way they can monitor my driving but even then my app says I drive well and I’ve never had a traffic ticket or at fault accident or accident of any kind. What is going on?

Denied Policy due to “too many claims” but I have 0 and a perfect record

    1. Did you ask them? If you’ve never made a claim on any policy you’ve had, they may be mixing up your record with someone else’s. Ask for the claims history. You may need to make some calls to straighten it out.

Pick up your phone, call and ask. You can get a letter of experience from USAA to provide Progressive, but only they can tell you the process by actually communicating with them

If you are denied insurance or credit they have to provide the report they used to do that. Plenty of mistakes on those reports. For insurance it is a CLUE.

Get your CLUE report. There MUST be something on it. It’s free. You can google how to do it. It’s like getting a credit report for insurance claims. My guess is someone else’s claim is on there or you share a name with your father or something like that.

Do you have a similar name to a family member? That very easily could be what’s happening here.

Heres a link that explains what a CLUE REPORT contains.

Once you get this you have the same info the insurance company has and you can have a conversation with the info in front of you.

There may be errors and you cam correct them on the report just like your credit report.

      Good luck

Edit: thanks HYR for posting the consumer link below

One of the factors is if you bought a second hand car. You can also call your insurance company for clarification and as well as the new insurance company. Good luck OP!
