Not assigned on Dell but was ITM on my CSPs….

Sold CSPs on Dell at a 108 strike that expired yesterday. Stock dropped to 102 by market close, but after getting added to S&P 500 jumped up to 107.80 in after market hours. Woke up this morning and checked my account to find I was not assigned… can this happen? How/why did this happen? Assuming someone thinks it’s going to rip on Monday and wanted to hold for that…

    1. This checks out. DELL was pretty clearly above $108 (from what I can see on my phone at least) between 5:15-5:30 yesterday.

That’s wild. Options settlement can be wonky sometimes, but this sounds like your broker messed up. Definitely call them ASAP on Monday, this seems like something they should fix. Good luck!

    3. I think this was a good thing for you. You made the max profit on the put you sold. At one time it was worth over 6, but ended up expiring worthless.

Yes, if you were assigned you would have had the opportunity to make more money, if Dell went up even more on Monday, but it could go down as well.

You made money on the trade and have no risk on Monday.
