Hey everyone! I’m working on a project aimed at improving financial services for military members and veterans, (or those managing the finances for the) and I’d love to get some honest feedback from this community. If you’ve served or are currently serving, what’s one thing your bank or credit union does well, and what’s something you wish they offered to make your financial life easier? Your insights could help shape better products and services for the military community.

What’s the most frustrating experience you’ve had with a financial institution while serving on active duty or after leaving the military?

How well do you think financial institutions understand the unique financial challenges faced by military members (such as deployments, frequent moves, or transition out of service)? What could be done better?

What are some financial products or services you wish your bank provided that would better support your long-term financial goals (e.g., retirement planning, portfolio management, or business expansion)?

For those who use veteran-friendly banks or credit unions, what benefits or perks (like fee waivers, lower loan rates, or special savings accounts) do you find the most valuable?

How familiar are you with military-specific banking products like those offered by USAA or Navy Federal? What made you choose them over other banks, and what would convince you to switch?
