This might seem like a dumb question, but are you supposed to tell your car insurance company that you have a child (younger than driving age)? I have a newborn, obviously they are at no risk of taking the car without permission but I feel like I remember seeing some posts about car insurance requiring you to put young young children anyway. At what age do they start requiring this?

in some instances (particularly for first-party medical coverages), they want to know how many people live in the household in total, regardless of age
