I am an options trader in India. I have come to USA for a couple of months and will likely keep visiting once a year. I would like to know how can I get started with options trading here in USA. My brother and many friends stay here so I can use/create their account for options trading. I would like to know the following:
1) Good platforms/brokers? reliability, interface, margin calculators, features like real time payoff graphs with greeks, etc.
2) Brokers with most reliable and fast API infrastructure? I am into algo as well
3) Software service providers that allow you to paper trade/ check payoffs with greeks/ see margins required?
4) Software service providers that allow you to simulate your strategy using historical prices – not algo based, just historical prices and option chain data wherein you can select a date , buy/sell a call/put within the option chain (mainly indices and top stocks) , fast forward on a 5 min / 15 min / 1 hr / daily timeframe and see the payoff / make further trades?

If u can’t compute real time payoff graphs and Greeks manually, probably shouldn’t be trading options
Don’t trade using others accounts for your sake and theirs. You don’t want to blowup an account and leave your friends/brother with taxes owed due to wash sale rule.
Most brokerages track location and could block your account.
India is a good market for options now especially as a seller if you have capital. Keep selling covered calls and collect premium.
