Hi all! My first PCS is happening next week. We are planning to also rent a trailer to bring some fragile pieces, but I have no idea how adding PPM to this works. I’ve been searching the forums and they all mention weight (we have a lot of books, for example).
I called my local travel office and I’ve explained this is my first move, and they all they tell me “request PPM it on DPS” even when I’ve explained the orders are Greek to me and I need help. I lucked out and someone helped me with the HHG portions last week but I haven’t been able to reach him again.
In general, who is supposed to counsel on moving arrangements? I have called and emailed them several times this week, and they just aren’t helpful. If I go in person, will they sit with me and go through DPS with me or do I need an appointment?

Your transportation office will give you the brief. You should go to the transportation office
Your family services center should have a PCS class. You can also find info online at Military One Source or through your branch’s transportation/personal property office.
