Hi..i just want to vent.
Im 30y male living in saudi arabia working as general physician,,all my life i have been taught to only follow the roads that my society has made in-front of me…live your childhood>go to school>get high grades> go to college and apply only to medicine or engineering since those are the most high paying jobs in KSA…so i did and got into medicine and I’ve been working as general physician for 2 years now …the problem is that i found out that i hate medicine or maybe I don’t know what specialty i should practice…my other MAIN problem is that right now after thinking i should build something for myself, a business that get me revenue (my own hard earned revenue) that i wont have to rely on my job because i F hate it … the thing is after so many years i discovered that im useless, i have no other skills or ideas to use that i can build my own businesse! And feel like such a loser and failure… i know there plenty of opportunities out there specially in KSA but feel like im chained or something and I don’t know where or how do i start! All im thinking right now is if don’t have my job right know i will literally live on the street since i don’t know how to even earn a single dollar and that feeling is painful…does anybody feel the same way ?

    I think im stupid

    1. You need a “side hustle” you are passionate about. Then eventually make that your main job once it takes off. Don’t quit your day job until the side hustle takes off though, a man has to eat!!

    2. Stupid is a harsh word, it has bothing to do with your brains, and you are not different in a bad way or any less than everyone else.

It’s a big realisation moment for you, and maybe you are experiencing anger (as part of the grief towards your “wasted years”), and you are directing this anger towards yourself, it is not logical to attain the skills you need for a brand new business out of thin air, you need to study and socialise with people who are also entrepreneurs to get familiar with the culture and the challenges.
Most people who do the side business thing either got into it by catching an opportunity that came their way or by having some exposure to this and learning more about their own advantages and passions (although sometimes you can be passionate about the ideals not the idea itself). What i mean to day it doesn’t just happen, and it is a journey, and you need to have good faith in yourself in order to pursue this, so don’t go attacking the only ally you’ve got. You are good, just a little frustrated and impatient

    3. Hi. You have more opportunities than 99,9% of the people in the world. You are Saudi yes? Do not despair. You have a background in being a doctor, why not become an importer of medicine/medical devices? Or use your knowledge to make custom formulations. Use your knowledge to leverage on success. Also you are young. 30 is a great age.
Be happy with yourself As You Are, and embrace your feelings.

I know I’m stupid! I’m 55 and still trying to start my own business. I wish I had a partner I could trust. Maybe some day.

    5. Congratulations you have hit one of thoes ‘oh shit’ moments that life smacks us in the face with occasionally.
