Hi, I from the East Coast visiting a few cities around the west coast for a while. Currently in Seattle and was trying to parallel park my rental car the other day when i accidentally reversed instead of going forward. I dinged up the lower plastic part of the bumper (electric SUV) while the other cars tailgate was dented in one spot and scratched in another (a minivan). No on was on the street as it was a residential street. it was dark and late at night.

I informed my rental agency and filled out a form to turn in when i return the car and i left a note with my phone number on the car that i reversed into. Is there anything else that i am supposed to do?

This is the first time this has happened to me and im not sure how to go on about it.

I hit a parked car in a rental and not sure what to do next

    1. What kind of coverage did you get?

Some covers just damage to your rental car. Some covers damage to the other person’s car.

If you didn’t get liability coverage, you’ll need to pay out of pocket for the tail gate repair or run it through your personal car insurance
