    1. If Intel is behind TSM’s process tech (like today), how exactly are NVDA and AAPL supposed to roll back their tech?

If it costs TSM $1B to move up a step, it’ll cost INTC twice that to catch up and stay even.

At the price of fabs $1B maybe a way low number.

In any case, I’d be buying LRCX, ASML, AMAT since they’re like arms dealers selling to both sides.

    2. It’s only slightly less dumb than trying to get Nvidia or Apple to use Bob’s Garage.

These nodes aren’t portable – you have to design the product for the process.

    3. It was never about free markets. It just so happens that in the past free markets meant American companies win.

    4. The us govt and the Biden admin seem desperate for intel to succeed.  If they come up short are we looking at a bailout?  Maybe with the chips act loan money?

So basically Pelosi just bought a tonne of Intel. Got it. Fuck you burgers and your shit assed market.

Our defense technology is dependent on these chips. It is, I believe, been argued that the success of Intel as a foundry along with TSMC’s new foundry in AZ is a matter of national security. Obviously if China launches an offensive to take Taiwan, the flow of chips coming from TSMC’s facilities there just stops.

Yes absolutely that is common sense but Intel must be able to deliver on their products.

    8. We are at war with Russia and China regardless if we choose to accept it or not. It’s not a hot war luckily and it doesn’t mean it will be a hot war but we are at war on the cyber and technological fronts.

    9. Awesome! Now instead of sinking some more, the stock will just trade sideways for the next 10 years.
