So, my wife and I are on long distance, and both of us had a car insurance with progressive in different states. I've recently moved my insurance with geico, and it seems that progressive cancelled my wife's policy by mistake – geico sent that e-mail thing to cancel a policy associated with me, which I didn't think will cancel my wife's policy as I'm not the policyholder for that one, and I'm just an insured driver under her policy for the car.

We've noticed that today via email, and somehow my wife's car now has a week "gap" that might influence future premium significantly, and progressive is refusing to reinstate the policy, just saying that we need to open up a new policy…

I was wondering if there's any option for us, anyway to simply reinstate the policy…

Progressive cancelled my wife's car insurance by mistake, and they won't reinstate my policy:(

    1. I’d try calling back to be honest.

Have you tried to have 1 policy? You tell them where each vehicle is kept.

Similar to having a vacation home with 1 car left there.

    2. Yeahhh I would try to get a second opinion. It’s a pretty straight forward situation so explain it again just like you did here, and possibly ask for a supervisors input as well.
There could be a deeper reason a reinstatement isn’t available though. Like if she reinstated in the past for example.
