Intel and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are expanding their strategic collaboration with a multi-year, multi-billion dollar co-investment in custom chip designs. Intel will produce an AI fabric chip for AWS using its advanced Intel 18A process and a custom Xeon 6 chip on Intel 3.
This partnership aims to accelerate AI innovation, strengthen U.S.-based semiconductor manufacturing, and build a robust AI ecosystem in Ohio. AWS also plans to invest $7.8B to expand its data centers in Ohio, on top of the $10.3B it has invested since 2015.
