So, about a week ago, I had a car accident with a Tesla Model X. The car is a company vehicle, and I was driving it at the time to visit a client. The car only has liability insurance (Haftpflicht in Austria). Long story short, the repair is going to be REALLY expensive. My boss told me I have to cover the costs, so I’m wondering if there’s any other insurance I might have, or something I can do to avoid paying the full amount or reduce the cost. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had a car crash, it has just just liability insurance.

    1. This sub is almost exclusively focused on U.S. and Canadian insurance. It’s not likely anyone here will know anything about Austrian insurance and law. You should try to find a sub dealing with legal matters there.

    2. Insurance has to be in place before an accident in order for it to be covered so unless you have some sort of policy that includes an employer’s vehicle, you are probably going to have to pay. At this point it looks more like something more to do with your terms of employment, can your employer legally charge the cost of damages to company property back to you.
