    1. Well lets be serious for a minute. Elon Musk isn’t going to go do something himself, but his tweet likely got a lot of reactions from a lot of people. Somewhere amongst all of those reactions will be a few crazies who might actually do something.

If your job is to prevent crazies from doing something its probably a good idea to check out who reacted positively and cross check to a list of people who are already on the radar for being nuts. Then update the file on those people and perhaps have someone go chat with any of them that appear to be prepping for nutty ideas.

Probably wont amount to anything, but who knows. They might find some nut job who is on the verge of showing up outside a rally and shooting people.

Now musk might try to stop them from collecting the data they are looking for, but if he has any sense he might not object too hard.

I could also see someone from the government having a chat with Musk about the tweet and point out that people who stir up trouble are basically trouble and will not get brownie points for that kind of behavior. Perhaps they might even get more regulatory oversight for their ventures since they dont want to play ball.

    2. I can’t stand this moron, that’s why I’m driving Rivian and fuck SpaceX and Starlink, I’ll long ASTS and RKLB

“Investigating” wtf does that mean- it was a dumb ass tweet that is likely to incite political violence- there’s nothing to investigate, it’s right there

    4. There’s nothing to investigate, it happened and we all saw it.  It’s either a crime or it isn’t.

    5. The guy turned into a fuckin clown piece.

Was he always a clown? I’m not sure. It seems it was always underneath. Once the money shows up a person’s character really shines through.

    6. He didn’t literally threaten anyone, but simply stated a fact that the media has also mentioned publically. It seems the optics of an “investigation” serves it’s intended political purpose, but has no real legal bearing.

It’s this exact dictator-esq problem that Elon wants to stamp out with X.

They can’t make sure a guy isn’t taking pot shots at one candidate from a very obvious vantage point.

…but they can waste time investigating Elon, who everyone knows isn’t doing any such thing, for simply noting that assassins aren’t targeting the other side.

    8. This is a nothing burger. I don’t like what Elon’s become now but with his tentacles in EVs, AI, Social media, Aerospace, and defense he is one of the most important people in the US right now. Massive kool aid. He has pissed a lot of people they are probably waiting for him to take the bait but it’s not this one.
