Hey everyone,
I recently received a check from my home insurance company for some repairs, but it's made out to both me and my mortgage lender. My lender is out of state and doesn't have any physical branches here in Washington. I'm planning on calling them Monday, but I wanted to see if anyone here has been through this before.
Is it better to try and get the insurance company to just make the check out to me? Or is it normal for the mortgage company to handle it? Any advice on how to navigate this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    1. They have to make a check out to both parties.

If there’s no local branch or office they may require you to mail the check to them so they can sign off on it.
