So I've been away for OSUT training about 13 weeks now. I have a wife and a son at home, and I'm national guard. I had no issues getting my active duty pay until now. What happened: I was shipped during summer surge. So I did the basic portion of my 31B training at one company, but since all but 7 of us went home after to finish high school they made that company BCT only and transferred us to the OSUT class next door to finish our OSUT training. When they did that, they "mistakenly" put in paperwork saying I went home as well and my pay stopped. Well, I've spoken to the appropriate people the NG liason, my drill sergeant etc. I've been told now that they know what the issue is they've sent it up to finance and are working on getting it fixed. BUT, I have still yet to be paid. I've missed 2 paychecks now and like I said I'm married with a kid at home so no Bueno. Any idea how long it takes for finance to process something like this, and start paying me again? And also if/when I should receive backpay? And would it help at all to email my recruiter and explain the issue? TIA

Your recruiter won’t be able to help. Honestly depends what the issue was that caused the delay on how quickly it can get fixed. When it does get fixed tho, you should get your back pay all on the same check. In a cpl days, your next LES should be available and I would go from there. It sounds like you were already gained in the system and finance just needed to start your pay which is an easy fix. A lot of times, Reservists and Guardsman leave for long tour orders and don’t notify the pay office which is the only way they know to start someone’s pay.
