So today at the grocery store, some guys in his truck hit my truck when he was backing up, and I was trying to park in reverse. My dash cam caught everything, I proceeded to park in my parking spot after he moved his car forward again, and went outside to assess if I had any damage and talk to the driver. The driver just upped and left. I have a couple very minor scratches that can probably just get buffed off, but the thing that pissed me off is that he just left without saying anything. Should I contact my insurance or anything for a minor scratch like this? Or just leave it alone?

    Thank you.

Some guy hit my car and just left, I got his license plate, what should I do?

    1. Damages are likely under your collision deductible if you even have that coverage. If that’s the case your insurance can’t do anything so there’s no point in having a claim on your record for zero benefit to you.

    2. If you want the damages fixed and it’s under your deductible, you should file a police report of the accident and get the other vehicles insurance info from the police. Then call them to file a claim.
