I actually turned $3300 into 24k. I got in at $133 before the 10:1 split. This was my first time buying stock lol

Enjoy the losses.

You haven’t succeeded until you turn that $3300 into a negative $40k margin call.

I have 1100 shares with a cost basis of $0.74 bought in January 2016, all inside a tax free account, still riding that rocket ;P Good for you with taking profits!

I mean do as you please but it’s not like Nvidia is going to suddenly crash. With such little money I’d keep it in for much longer but you do you. Right now my $2000 is up to ~$13,000. I don’t plan to sell Nvidia for a few years and I really wish I had gotten in sooner but everyone says that.
If you’re American, why not hold for a year for long term cap gains?

There’s no shame in taking profit early and playing safe. Good luck! Remember that you have to pay taxes on the gains.

I’ve made too much money to sell it by this point. Just waiting till January to turn these stocks into long term and I don’t get fucked by taxes. Hopefully it’s around 140-150 by then, but I don’t have too much hope though.

what? You gain money by making trades?

If you need the money right now, then it was the right decision. If you did not need it immediately, then I believe you should probably not be throwing money at things you do not understand. Better safe than sorry sounds like you don’t really have a great concept of what you threw money at and don’t really understand why you made money. Hopefully you’ve heard of capital gains tax, but by your wording I imagine you might want to look it up.

Save this post. Reminds me of when I sold apple in 2013…same profit %
Could have set up stops for a few shares at a time and left the original, depends on when you need the $. Time horizons are everything

Yeah, but we have a feedback loop now, man. The good day in the USA is causing Japan to go nuclear, and that’ll feed back into the US and so on. We got a couple of days of this.
