My car was parked at the grocery store, and when I returned, I found a deep scratch on the rear passenger side. It’s pretty bad, and no note was left. I want to get it fixed and file a claim. I have full coverage insurance with a $500 deductible. I don’t want to file a police report for this. I just want to get this fixed. It might be like 1K of damage and I live in Texas.

You shouldnt file a claim for 1k in damage. If your able to pay oop and get it fixed, thats probably the best way to go.
I didn’t file a report either and just focused on getting it fixed. It worked out fine.
If it’s something you can afford to fix yourself, and the damages aren’t ~10x the deductible, you are almost certainly better off paying out of pocket to get it fixed.
