    2. Us GDP is around 28 trillion. 3% of that is around 800 billion. Us deficit is about 1.9 trillion.

Explain how 1.9 trillion fiscal stimulus causing 0.8 trillion of economic growth is a good thing.

The period of time from 2007-2008 prior to the (at the time) massive economic stimulus and bank bailouts implemented in 2008 is considered by most to be the second worst financial disaster in modern history, eclipsed only by the 1929 crash and Great Depression period of the 1930s.

Look at the GDP numbers for that time period.

Now, understand that looking at GDP numbers in hindsight that are likely getting revised downward is an absolutely shit way to determine what happens next. Fuck the GDP numbers. Inflation, unemployment, the Fed/Congress’s moves and earnings quarterlies are all that matter for the next twelve months.

The free money era of history is over. World powers are trying for this “soft landing” fantasy and what you do from here is dictated by whether you believe they can pull off a “soft landing” in the current macro against a backdrop of hasty, scattered and reckless fiscal and spending policy decisions over the last five years that backstopped an already long overdue correction that was imminent in late 2019. COVID sent us over the cliff.

If we print, we’re fucked. If we don’t print, we’re fucked. In short, we’re fucked.

      Wait wait wait.

I was told we’re in the middle of a recession, nay a collapse, with a carton of eggs costing $9 and you can’t even go to the supermarket anymore! The shelves are empty!
