Still wondering why VIX futures are trading at a 20% premium… what kind of apocalyptic volatility event is the market pricing in before 15th of Oct? Is it inflation reading on 10th or what? If that’s a nothing burger, holy VIX crush in 5 days it’s gonna collapse about 20%…
The trade is to buy some doomsday OTM calls on VIX and then go super-duper-shrek-turbo long on SPY because if VIX is crushed that hard it will be rocket mode.

It used to be that a catastrophic hurricane ripping through 8 states was enough to squash the market for a few days, knowing the gub’ment was going to declare a state of emergency and spend billions to rebuild critical infrastructure.
