If available, get on unemployment IMMEDIATELY. Also check into other government assistance programs.

      Network with your friends.

Sell off some possessions. If it’s not a family heirloom, you can replace it later.

Review your subscriptions; cut off the ones you can live without for a while.

Treat getting a job as a full-time job.

And, most importantly, believe in yourself.

I would take any side work I could get asap. Mowing yards, picking up trash, moving debris. Depending on where you live the storms could’ve created a ton of work for someone willing to just pick up debris and clean up some

This was me when I started my first buisness. I needed to come up with 800 bucks, started detailing already learned marketing at that time, I was able to make $1,400 in 3 days I think but it was under a week.

It was a good buisness tons of leads, stopped it and gave buisness to a friend. After that started my fence and hardscape buisness which is what I like to do.

dataannotation.tech and prolific honestly. Can make $20-30/hr from your house. But this would depend on how quickly you can get accepted. I’m already accepted so that’s what I would do.

If I can’t do that, probably doordash on a bike.

    5. I’m in a situation similar. I dropped out college because I got a great job in the summer time and have had that job for almost 13 years and worked my way up in the company. I got fired almost 30 days ago for “lack of integrity” (I had posted a pic online from the company to photoshop because it was too blurry to read and needed clearing up). Now I’m in my mid 30s with no degree and a few years experience in a field that pays good but I despise it. Trying to figure things out now, currently I’m trying different jobs (sales atm) but I will say I hate not having the degree I need for most these jobs. I will definitely remedy that and get my degree if I can find a decent paying job again. I also don’t think I qualify for unemployment because of the reason I was fired was for my own decision/actions despite the reason was for a good cause (helping those younger and less experienced). I’m hoping you figure it out as I am right now. I got no spouse or partner in general so I have no income to fall back on currently. I’m using my Esavings right now and after that I got my retirement savings (~$220k)

    6. Get off reddit and get out there! Get a local job, offer your services for neighbours (cleaning, small yard work), do some tutoring or could even enter online contests like FoundrComps or 99designs. Best of luck!

    7. Doordash and UberEats allow bikes. I would do that while figuring out what the next step is. Also might get a free meal if dumb people forget their orders.

    8. Neon hand written signs in a busy traffic area to a voicemail. Sell the leads on to a realtor or investor/mortgage broker.

    9. I’m there every other week right now.

Literally had to postpone house payment, six days away from getting my truck repossessed, barely enough cash to open every day. But I have assessed and reassessed and my business is profitable and growing a following. So, my customers believe in it, I do too. I believe in my product so much, I’m willing to die on that hill.

For me, I can see that there is a light way down there. And I’m gonna get up every morning and keep heading toward it.

So, imo, you have to know if it’s gonna pay off. Without emotions making you hang on. But if it’s growing, keep fucking going.

Do what I did at 17: rent it out on Airbnb. Either the rooms separately, so that you can put a curtain up and sleep in the living room. Or, the whole thing and sleep in your car or at a friends. You should get at least 180% of the rent, even posting last minute

    11. Donate plasma, mom and pop places who will still do walk ins, Craigslist gig work or labor jobs

    12. Bucket of soap and water. Offering businesses to scrub their sidewalks. At least that way if it doesn’t pay off, I know the streets I’m sleeping on will be clean.

    13. If social services dont work, or are not available for some bureaucratic reason or some bs as they usually do. And if you dont have family support or anything like that. Sell some of your shit and move to one of the small towns near puerto vallarta, mexico. Theres a great expat community there, but as always, be careful of scammers and such. Rent in mexico is relatively cheap, and if you can get a remote job that pays you in dollars, you got it made, even if they pay minimum wage.

I think you can survive and plan better and for longer if the wealth you currently have can be stretched as much as possible just by moving countries.

50k dollars in a medium size city will go maybe for 6 months if youre unemployed for a long time. 50k is around 100k pesos and can last you for a year at least.

You can stretch it even more if you consider other latin american countries that offer better alternatives.

    14. Depends. With my current skillset, I am reaching out to anyone and anywhere to see if anyone needs electrical work, handyman work, etc. I will be ubering to a jobsite if I have to… the first one will be the hardest.

Otherwise I am going to look around for some cash centric jobs. Waiter, etc try to make some quick cash pay my first months rent then get a beate lr car so I can work in a more affluent area, or get into a sales role and continue making quick cash.

Other option is get into some sort of thrifting direct print, marketimg type gig online.

    15. Look at what migrant workers around you are doing for a living. That could be a temporary set of options.

    16. Singing hilarious songs at public till it get viral on tiktok. A rockstar life starts here🤘
